Information assurance specialist Vistorm today announced a partnership with McAfee, Inc., the global leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management. McAfee´s Foundstone┬« vulnerability management technology will be included in Vistorm´s managed vulnerability assessment and alerting service. This service is just one part of the Vistorm Managed Service portfolio providing CXOs with a top-down, business-led approach to securing their IT infrastructure.

The intelligent vulnerability assessment and alerting service interrogates networks to develop a clearer picture of where security weaknesses may be located. These weaknesses are discovered and interrogated for vulnerabilities to help administrators detect, prioritise, and fix issues before they are exploited by intruders.

“Information Assurance and security projects have been placed at the forefront of government and enterprise procurement. The increase in external threats and the required shift in corporate governance and compliance have placed a heavy burden on businesses around the world,” commented Steve Browell, general manager, technology, Vistorm. “We offer a managed service that partners Vistorm expertise with McAfee´s Foundstone technology, to answer some of the key questions affecting large organisations.”

“We´re delighted to be able to work with one of our key partners in such an innovative way,” adds Rob Eatwell, Channel Regional Director, McAfee, Inc. “It´s refreshing that such a key advisor to the UK´s largest enterprises shares McAfee´s view of what really matters to key enterprise security people. I believe the way in which Vistorm is utilising our technology is a big pointer in terms of what end-users will increasingly start to demand of security vendors and trusted advisors alike.”

The ultimate aim of the Vistorm Managed Services portfolio is to end up with a set of information assets and service platforms that are available, reliable, accurate, secure, and fit in with compliance regimes, whilst being directly aligned with the needs of the business.
