StillSecure has announced that Safe Access provides extended functionality to the joint Cisco NAC/Microsoft NAP solution. Safe Access will fulfill critical health agent, health enforcement, and policy creation roles by offering deeper policy definition, and multiple testing and enforcement options.
Safe Access’ support for industry standards uniquely positions it to work separately within each framework or in concert to bring the full benefits of network access control. By utilizing both the NAP agent and the NAC enforcement standards, Safe Access allows administrators to test for hundreds of off-the-shelf tests, well beyond the testing and policy definition options offered in the standalone NAC/NAP environment.
Furthermore, Safe Access provides an opportunity to deploy network access control in environments that aren’t exclusively based on Cisco and Microsoft by adding inline, endpoint-based, 802.1x, and DHCP methods of enforcement.
StillSecure Safe Access enhanced NAC/NAP functionality will be available in time for the NAC/NAP integration, scheduled to coincide with the release of Microsoft Windows Server Longhorn in the second half of 2007.
