Software Supplier Uses Mirapoint’s Message Server and Junk Mail Manager for Strong Enterprise Messaging at a Low Total Cost of Ownership

Mirapoint, the secure messaging experts, today announced that Synplicity, Inc. (Nasdaq:SYNP), a leading supplier of software for the design and verification of semiconductors, has selected Mirapoint´s Message Server and Junk Mail Manager to meet their growing corporate messaging needs.

When looking to upgrade their previous email system, Synplicity sought a messaging solution that offered greater reliability at a lower TCO than other options while providing the same rich functionality. Moreover, knowing that corporate messaging presently encompasses numerous fields including security, policy management, archiving, storage, serving and routing — Synplicity wanted one vendor with the end-to-end messaging solutions and expertise to assist in all of these areas. After evaluating different vendors and solutions, Synplicity chose Mirapoint´s purpose-built Message Server appliance for its low TCO and its “five-nines” reliability.

Once Synplicity implemented Mirapoint, the company noticed the overall messaging improvements from the new email appliance both in their Sunnyvale offices and remotely. IT staff noticed Mirapoint´s industry-leading reliability while Synplicity employees were immediately up and running on Mirapoint´s Corporate Edition WebMail without any user training due to its familiar corporate look and feel. Mirapoint even personalized the WebMail interface to reflect Synplicity´s brand.

To further combat spam, Synplicity has also implemented Mirapoint´s Junk Mail Manager to provide a second layer of anti-virus, and give end users greater personal spam controls for protection of their core messages. They have also recently begun deploying Mirapoint email security solutions to further secure their messaging infrastructure.

Synplicity is also relying on Mirapoint´s industry-leading reliabilty to bolster its disaster recovery strategy by deploying two message servers at distributed company locations. This will ensure that Synplicity´s messaging infrastructure is always available should one server be rendered inoperable due to an unforeseen disaster.

In the February 2006 MarketScope for Email Systems, Gartner research vice president, Matt Cain states, “Mirapoint´s strengths are its high stability and low TCO via an integrated operating system, database, file system and access interfaces.”
