SecureWave, a worldwide leader in endpoint security software, announced that it has won two European Reader Trust Awards at the SC Magazine awards ceremony held during InfoSec Europe. SecureWave´s Sanctuary Device Control 3.0 was named Overall Winner in both the´”Best Network Security Management´ and the ´Best Endpoint Security Solution´ categories during a ceremony at the Grovesnor House in London.

Sanctuary Device Control 3.0 provides IT managers with the peace of mind of knowing that only explicitly authorized portable storage devices can connect to the corporate network or download data from it. The software is granular enough to enable authorized personnel to use specified media such as USB sticks and iPods at specific times of day, but blocks their connections at all other times. IT managers can also use the Sanctuary software to create an audit trail of all data downloaded to authorized devices. Sanctuary Device Control is used by a wide range of companies worldwide, including Barclays Bank, Martin, Fletcher Healthcare and the Forensic Science Service.

The awards come hot on the heels of the announcement that SecureWave is partnering with leading manufacturer of removable flash memory cards and USB flash drives, Lexar Media to develop and market an enterprise-class privacy solution for controlling personal storage devices. The Companies plan to jointly provide solutions offering more granular control and cryptographic security for portable storage devices to ensure compliance with regulations, prevent malicious and unintentional data leakage and preserve corporate assets.

SecureWave products protect more than 1.5 million endpoints at more than 1,200 organizations worldwide from the threat of malicious, unauthorized or unknown devices and executables. SecureWave´s Sanctuary suite employs a proactive automatic whitelist approach that enforces the safe use of all approved removable devices, from iPods to external hard drives, and stops all unwanted executables, including spyware, Trojans and illegal software.

“We are pleased that Sanctuary Device Control has won two of the prestigious SC Magazine European Awards,” said Bob Johnson, CEO of SecureWave. “SecureWave provides businesses with the capabilities to safely and efficiently incorporate the use of portable storage devices into the enterprise. With Sanctuary, companies can embrace new technologies and devices without the associated risks of malware and data leakage.”
