By | June 21, 2006

Secure Computing Corporation (NASDAQ: SCUR), the experts in securing connections between people, applications and networks™ today announced it has been positioned in the Challengers quadrant of Gartner, Inc.’s ´Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls, 1H06´ published June 5, 2006. Gartner positions vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

According to Gartner, the enterprise firewall market is driven primarily by the requirement to provide network policy enforcement and intrusion prevention at trust boundaries. Network firewalls are often the first line of defense and primary implementers of a positive security model policy of “deny all except that which is expressly allowed.”

“We are pleased to be recognized by Gartner in the Challengers quadrant in their Magic Quadrant report,” said John McNulty, president, CEO and chairman of Secure Computing. “Every day, companies are faced with increasing threats to their network security and numerous vendors touting solutions that address only the bits and pieces of a complete security solution. Our Sidewinder G2®, CyberGuard® TSP and SnapGear™ security appliances consolidate all major Internet security functions into a single system that protects against both known and unknown attacks. We believe this recognition by Gartner confirms our impressive track-record of providing our customers with gold-standard appliances.”

Gartner, a leading research and advisory firm with more than 45,000 clients worldwide, evaluates vendors annually against numerous criteria including the vendor´s vision, market understanding, marketing and sales strategy and execution, innovation, customer references and track record.
