RSA Security has announced the availability of RSA SecurID Appliance 2.0, a scalable and easy-to-deploy strong authentication solution that enables enterprise customers to establish the trusted identity of users accessing critical business resources. In addition, the solution helps ease the technology procurement process, making it much simpler to deploy strong authentication across the enterprise.
The new appliance can be deployed in as few as 15 minutes, enabling large organisations to easily roll-out two-factor authentication within varying environments, including offices with few IT resources. Customers may implement up to 10 replicas, ensuring business continuity for users accessing protected systems and applications. In addition, enterprises with an existing RSA Authentication Manager infrastructure can use the appliance to cost-effectively scale their deployment.
Enterprises can use the new RSA SecurID Appliance to provide stronger security for remote access servers, IP/Sec and SSL VPNs, wireless access points, terminal services, Microsoft Windows desktops and networks and over 300 third party solutions (e.g. routers, servers and Web portals) certified through the RSA Secured Partner Program. RSA SecurID two-factor authentication technology can also serve as the authentication point for RSA Sign-On Manager enterprise single sign-on software, RSA ClearTrust access management software, RSA Federated Identity Manager solution and RSA Key Manager software.
In addition, RSA Security is offering a conversion program to current software-based RSA SecurID solution customers. The program, which will be available to both enterprise and SME customers, will offer fixed-price appliance hardware and a new RSA Authentication Manager software license. RSA Security also provides detailed procedures for migrating data from RSA Authentication Manager software to RSA SecurID Appliance.
