nCircle Offers an Alternative to Nessus 3.0

nCircle is offering an alternative to Nessus 3.0, which according to the company suffers from lack of regulatory and security policy compliance. nCircle’s new solution integrates Nessus data and helping enterprises transition to comprehensive solution while preserving existing technology investments.

“Nessus is an excellent example of the value that Open Source projects bring to today´s enterprise,” said Peter Christy, Partner, Internet Research Group. “But it is equally clear that Open Source solutions are replaced by vendor supported solutions as the impact and value of the application grows. The importance of vulnerability management to IT security and regulatory compliance suggests that vendor-provided and supported solutions will be increasingly the right choice in this case too.”

nCircle IP360 provides detail intelligence about all IP network devices, including network topology, operating systems, applications, vulnerabilities and more. IP360 provides the foundation for comprehensive risk management, security policy and regulatory compliance program.

“While Nessus has been a good starting point for organizations to perform basic vulnerability assessments, moving to a commercial-grade, enterprise- class security risk management solution like nCircle IP360 is the next logical step,” said Abe Kleinfeld, president and CEO of nCircle. “Enterprises around the world that have transitioned from Nessus to IP360 have found the process to be smooth, and have benefited from lower cost of ownership and significant gains in management functionality, accuracy and discovery leading to reduced IT security risk.”
