SAND Technology Inc. (OTCBB: SNDTF.OB), an international provider of enterprise information management solutions, today announced that a large European telecommunications provider has chosen SAND/DNA Analytics™ as the centralized data storage component in a data warehouse system used to analyze user behaviour on web portals. The firm cited the SAND product´s flexibility, high rate of data compression and excellent data load and query performance as the reasons for their decision.
The solution previously used by the company had been unable to handle growing volumes of data and increasingly complex reporting demands. Also, operating costs were very high due to the constantly increasing storage space requirements resulting from data growth. With the SAND solution, storage demands have been reduced from 1.2 terabytes with the previous system to only 0.4 terabytes, with improved overall performance. This has enabled a two-thirds reduction in fixed costs for storage and backup. In addition, since SAND/DNA Analytics automatically indexes all data when it is loaded, much less administrative effort is required than would be the case with conventional products.
