Kaspersky Lab announces the release of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Check Point FireWall-1, which provides high-quality antivirus protection for all HTTP and FTP traffic, as well as SMTP mail traffic, that passes through Check Point Firewall-1. The solution is designed for use on the Windows family of operating systems.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Check Point Firewall-1 offers protection from malicious programs, spyware, adware, joke programs and other current threats. The application benefits from a range of optimization technologies that enable it to meet the demands of large organizations that have heavy volumes of traffic. For instance, it employs: intelligent algorithms for delivering data to the end user; a system of event notifications and reports; advanced scalability; and support for the latest hardware platforms.
The product scans all incoming and outgoing traffic, and defines objects and attachments as infected, suspicious, protected or damaged. The administrator has the choice of using either a standard or an extended set of antivirus databases, depending on the level of protection required.
The advanced scalability of the solution makes it eminently suitable for use in the largest organizations that see heavy traffic loads. The system administrator can choose to run multiple copies of the antivirus engine and multiple CVP servers for processing requests from the firewall to meet peaks in traffic volumes. Moreover, the solution is optimized for use on the Intel Xeon platform.
Another advantage of the solution is that the administrator does not have to learn to navigate around a new interface to begin using the product. The administrative interface for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Check Point Firewall-1 is based on Microsoft Management Console 1.2 to make administration as simple and convenient as possible.
