By | February 23, 2006

Centrix, a UK-based independent consultancy that specialises in bringing together business, technology and services, is launching SAFEЃ (Secure Access For Everyone), a suite of packaged consultancy services designed to provide companies with rapid return on their technology investments. With SAFE, companies have the ability to deliver their business services faster, gain greater control over their infrastructures while opening new avenues for secure information access.

SAFE can be quickly deployed, enabling organisations to become more flexible with their IT infrastructure and therefore respond faster to changing business demands, ultimately giving them a competitive edge. SAFE delivers IT service modules on a pay-as-you-go basis providing greater choice, reduced risk and improved return on investment for companies purchasing IT services.

Lisa Hammond, CEO at Centrix, explains: We have spent over Ј30 million on research and development and have been involved in deploying over 300 technology projects to enterprise-sized companies over the last five years. Our new SAFE offering is the end result of that. SAFE brings the value back to IT by offering complete budgetary control, as the pay-as-you-go modules enable companies to grow the scope and scale of IT projects as they develop it is as simple as it sounds!

This pay-as-you-go consultancy approach is already being adopted by major Times 500 companies and tangible benefits that have already been realised include: Reduction in OPEX by providing an on-demand computing solution and

applications and services as a utility; Lower CAPEX due to implementation of a virtual infrastructure and

comprehensive utilisation of current infrastructure; A 20 times return on their investment.

SAFE was utilised to provide a remote office service to a third party organisation, explains John Carey, IT Director at Scottish Widows. Within 6 weeks of commencing the programme a pilot was launched and the service was live. SAFE gave us a number of key best practices to achieve that, and the SAFE subscription-based (pay-as-you go) solution has really helped the economic model behind it.

Working with Centrix, Scottish Widows has achieved its targets of a reduction in storage, total cost of ownership, and now has a business continuity platform that meets our rigorous security requirements a clear value has been brought to the fore by the way Centrix delivers its services. Mr Carey continues, Centrix has provided pragmatic, proactive, experienced advice and solutions and have identified opportunities to negate cost overflow. I view them as іenablersІ of my IT strategy.
