Blackboard Announces BbWorld Europe Annual Users Conference to be held in Scotland, May 9 -10, 2006

Blackboard Inc. (NASDAQ: BBBB), a leading provider of software and services to the education industry, today announces the BbWorld Europe Users Conference, “Educate, Innovate, Everywhere,” to be held in Edinburgh on May 9th and 10th, 2006.

Professor Gilly Salmon – Professor of e-Learning and Learning Technologies, at the University of Leicester Fred Siff – Chief Information Officer at the University of Cincinnati Todd Gibby – Executive Vice President of Operations at Blackboard.

BbWorld Europe provides an ideal forum for pan-European Blackboard users to network, exchange ideas and share best practices on how their institutions are using Blackboard to enhance teaching, learning and community development. This year´s two-day conference features 30 diverse sessions given by Blackboard clients, staff and partners.

Conference sessions will range from pedagogy to technical approaches to growth and scalability.

Sessions will be grouped into two tracks covering Higher Education and Further Education. Case studies include a presentation on the use of e-portfolios in the University of Dundee and the outcome of the recent OFSTED inspection of the City of Sunderland College´s use of Blackboard solutions to provide an e-environment for learners, academics and support staff.
