Beep Science, a leading provider of mobile Digital Rights Management software, today announced at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona its new downloadable OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) DRM plug-in for Windows Media Player enabling playback of OMA v2 DRM protected content in a PC. The solution enables cross platform content consumption between PC and mobile phones, where copyright protected content can be transferred and consumed between devices.

The new Beep Science OMA v2 DRM plug-in solution enables a seamless end-user experience, providing new opportunities for content providers to offer content for both PC and mobile phones. Unique to the solution is that it does not require any file conversion neither for the content service provider nor the end-user. The solution provides new opportunities for content providers to offer cross media services, avoiding content conversions, dual downloads or management of multiple files.

The OMA DRM plug-in enables content providers to offer content to be used both on OMA DRM capable mobile phones as well as on PC’s. The product complements the Beep Science OMA v2 DRM plug-in for Winamp player. With easy user interfaces the end-user can download the OMA DRM Plug-in over the Internet from the content provider. It is easy to install and has a simple user interface.

“The version 2 of the Open Standard DRM technology from OMA is now available for Consumer Electronic Devices, PC’s and Mobile Terminals and that paves the way for significantly enhancing the end user experience whilst consuming DRM protected content”, says Markku Mehtдlд, VP Business Development at Beep Science.

Beep Science will demonstrate all its OMA DRM products at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona this week, including OMA DRM Plug-in for Windows Media Player.
