Alternative Technology, the leading specialty distributor of thin-client/server-based computing, edge infrastructure, and Government-approved security solutions, today announced the addition of eEye Digital Security to its GSA Schedule.

eEye is a leading developer of network security and vulnerability management software solutions, as well as the industry’s foremost contributor to security research and education, and its products will now be available to authorized VARS for sales to federal, state, and local government entities, via Alternative Technology’s Distribution GSA Schedule. Other leading security and infrastructure products that are available on Alternative Technology’s GSA schedule include: ActivIdentity, AEP Networks, Eicon Networks, Packeteer, Rajant, SonicWall, and Vericept.

In addition, Alternative Technology provides a One-Call Support Program via GSA, which eliminates the finger-pointing hassles associated with supporting a bundle of products, by offering total support solutions across its entire product line.

“eEye adds significantly to Alternative Technology’s GSA offering,” said John Stubbs, vice president of business development strategies for Alternative Technology. “eEye leads the vulnerability assessment and intrusion prevention technology markets for both the private and public sectors, while its research team has been recognized by industry experts in the discovery of some of the most critical vulnerabilities in various platforms and applications. eEye´s family of security solutions is an excellent complement to other security solutions on our line card, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.”

“As we are already deployed in the federal government, our solutions are a natural addition to Alternative Technology’s GSA Schedule, and we are excited to work with a well-respected distributor to accommodate a segment whose networks are growing, in terms of number and complexity, and therefore need security tools that can quickly and cost-effectively eliminate risk,” said Ross Brown, chief operating officer of eEye.

“Alternative Technology and our VARs are actively engaged in the federal, state and local markets to identify emerging opportunities for our suite of Vendor offerings, including special market initiatives such as the Homeland Security Presidential Directive – 12 (HSPD-12),” said Stubbs. “VARs have one point of contact to buy best-of-breed security and infrastructure products and integrated solutions from Alternative Technology’s vendors who participate in the GSA program, and are heavily supported by go-to-market plans, integrated solutions, and security consulting and technical services.”
